Spirit of the Eight Manners of Solemnity,

Spirit of the Eight Manners of Solemnity, Palsungdo changshin, are the spiritual roots of the Wisdom School of Taekwondo, Jidokwan . The Jidokwan is one of the few styles of Taekwondo that directly uses this spiritual tool to help guide the student on their path toward self mastery.

8 Manners of Solemnity

Ohlba Rukae Ponda - View Rightly: the first of the Eight Manners of Solemnity states that events in your life have no meaning other than the meaning you chose to attach to them. Chose to give positive meanings to events so that they inspire you and you ultimately get a desired outcome.

Example: One person hates (a negative view) roller coasters, at the end of the ride their system has created adrenaline and their body is toxic. Another person loves (a positive view) roller coaster, at the end of their ride their body has created endorphins and they are euphoric. It is the same ride! Their view affected the experience they had.
